Job Description

As we gear up for the new academic term we are searching for a team of students to help us make this our best year of readership yet. 

We are looking for students who have a real passion for marketing. The experience you will gain working for us will help you stand out to recruiters.

Roles available: 

CBM - Distributor 

The type of student we are looking for: 

- Reliable, hardworking and trustworthy 
- Self-motivated 
- Excellent knowledge of campus 

Role activities: 

- Receiving delivery of each issue every fortnight during term time 
- Putting new issues into each of our stands around campus 
- Counting and recycling old issues 
- Finding great locations to put out piles of copies on campus and in halls of residences 
- Handing out issues outside busy lecture theatre entrances at at least 2 lectures each week. 

Pay: Equivalent to £8 per hour

CBM: Experiential marketers 

The type of students we are looking for: 

- Very confident, sociable, energetic, enthusiastic 
- Past experience in public speaking and/or promotions 
- Results driven 

Role activities: 

- Implementing our 4 experiential marking campaigns over the academic year 
- Carrying out 2 lecture shout-outs each week in order to give each attendee an issue and get them to sign-up to The Gateway 
- Carrying out special lecture shout out campaigns for our special issues. There are approximately 3 special issues over the academic year. 

Pay: Equivalent to £8 per hour 
Positions available: 2

CBM - Event promotions 

The type of students we are looking for: 

- Organised and efficient 
- Confident, articulate and well presented 
- Good communicator 

Role activities: 

- Liaising with the careers service and relevant societies 
- Attending all the major careers fairs and handing out issues to students 
- Attending a variety of society events to distribute the new issue and sign-up attendees. 
- Keeping us updated with any other large events you see going on on campus 
- Handing out in high-footfall locations for two hours each week. 

Pay: Equivalent to £8 per hour

CBM - Online marketer 

The type of students we are looking for: 

- Knowledgable on all types of social media sites and blogs 
- Past experience in online marketing 
- Someone with lots of contacts on Facebook 

Role activities 

- Using Facebook, Twitter etc to promote The Gateway and help us increase traffic to our website and more 'likes' for our page. 
- Promotional blogging 
- Using other online methods to gain sign-ups 

Pay: Commission basis
